Free QR code generator

Design a QR code and export a print-ready PNG without creating an account. Static codes encode your content directly in the pattern — they never expire, never redirect through anyone’s server, and never stop scanning.

Try a style

The full editor adds six module shapes, eye styles, gradients, logos, frames, and all seven content types — no account needed to design and export a PNG.

Open the full editor

Free means the whole editor.

No feature bait. The same design controls paying customers use are open to everyone — the paid plans sell dynamic redirects and analytics, not shapes and colors.

  • Seven content types: URL, text, Wi-Fi, vCard, email, SMS, phone
  • Six module shapes and seven eye styles
  • Solid colors and gradients, logo embedding
  • Print frames with your own call-to-action text
  • PNG export up to 1024 px, no account required
  • Static codes scan forever — no expiry, no server

Free generator, straight answers.

Is the QR code generator really free?

Yes. The full design editor — shapes, colors, gradients, logos, frames — and PNG export at 1024 px work without an account or a card. Paid plans add dynamic codes, analytics, and vector formats; the free tool is not a demo.

Do free QR codes expire?

No. A static QR code encodes your content directly in the pattern — there is no server between the scan and the destination, so nothing can expire, throttle, or paywall it. It scans forever.

What can I encode?

Seven content types: a URL, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, a vCard contact, an email draft, an SMS, or a phone number. Each type has its own form in the editor.

Can I use the codes commercially?

Yes — codes you create are yours, for menus, packaging, business cards, anything. Free PNG exports carry a small QRForge badge in the frame footer; paid plans remove it.

What resolution is the free PNG export?

Up to 1024 × 1024 px — sharp for flyers, cards, and screens. For large-format print or press runs, paid plans export 4096 px PNG plus SVG, PDF, and EPS vector.

What's a dynamic QR code, and do I need one?

A dynamic code encodes a short link you can re-aim after printing, with scan analytics. If your destination might ever change — menus, campaigns, listings — dynamic is worth it. The free plan includes two.

Planning a code whose destination might change? Dynamic codes start at $9/month — and the free plan includes two.

No signup. No expiry. No catch.

Open the editor, design your code, download the PNG. If you ever need to change where a printed code points, we'll be here.
